SMART Reading Program

Research shows that the third-grade reading level is a key indicator of a child’s future educational success.  SMART Reading has been instrumental in helping students achieve that goal with adults reading one-on-one with elementary school students.

For the last twenty years Clackamas Rotarians have not only supported SMART financially but also have provided volunteers to read with the kids.  The club also holds an annual year-end luncheon honoring the students and volunteers where the kids receive free books from a noted children’s author who speaks at the event.
