Food Program
Research shows that nearly one in four families are experiencing food insecurity, making hunger one of the nation’s most urgent problems.
The Clackamas Rotary Foundation and the Rotary Club of Clackamas have instituted several programs to help meet this dire need in our community.
The Rotary Food Project
Clackamas Rotarians recruit friends and neighbors to fill grocery bags that are collected every two months and donated to food pantries. Started in 2013, the Rotary Food Project now provides about 7,000 pounds of food per year for those in need.
The Sack Lunch Program
Twice a month club members prepare ten sack lunches each. These lunches are delivered to Father’s Heart Street Ministry, which distributes them to homeless persons.
Monthly Food Service
Club members help prepare and serve meals to the needy at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Milwaukie.
